Still have not received passport coming up on 1 year after mailing in my application. However i cannot submit this experience without saying i have received it. I have received several email replies over the year that my passport is in review. I have phoned countless times with an average wait time of approximately 3-4 hours on hold while a countdown of my position in line updates. The system either hangs up automatically or I will simply not be able to continue to hold any longer. The closest I came in line on the phone was 30 position. I have spoken with other humans in various departments at Government of Canada and all redirected me to the same phone number to hold and never get through. Or email the same department only to receive the automatic application pending reply. Next step is ask my MLA for help.
