Wanted to travel to US end of June so was well past the 9 week average at the time. Heard nothing and unable to get through on phone line, email enquiry got no response and at 13 weeks they posted average now 13. Still no way to contact. Family now planning an end of summer USA trip and no word. Finally contacted My local MP. They intervened and had application transferred to local passport office and had within a week of that. Without their intervention no idea when it would have been processed. There was no explanation why it was sitting in limbo.

Submitted through MP’s office in Brantford. They couriered it to Gatineau. Was told when applying would take 17 weeks plus mailing time. Was so pleasantly shocked to receive it within 20 days. I called to thank them for their assistance and they told me they had just had a call from someone now waiting 19 weeks!

Passport Canada put the wrong postal code on the envelope. Then Canada post sent it to a military base in Kansas. We were not able to recover it and had to reapply. It was originally sent mid august.

Selected “more than 45 days away” travel time as that was accurate for travel in mid October. Was told processing time meant it would arrive by end of August, multiple call backs and ultimately getting 2 applications put to rush finally received October 4. Very stressful process, most agents were friendly on the phone but unable to give and real answers.

Went to a Service Canada location before opening. I was the third in line and was processed and on my way in less than an hour which was totally unexpected. At the time, I was told processing at worst case would be 17 weeks plus mailing time. I was pleased when it arrived within a month.

Took way too long. Had to change trip from early July to November as passport did not come in time. Emailed in early June to find out where in the process it was and possible receive time. Email was returned 2 weeks after we had already received the passport.

Passport did not come even close to when we were told it would and it came over 2 months after our travel date. Luckily we were driving across the border not flying and were still able to make it work. We tried to call in multiple times and could never get through. We filled in the request for information online and it took 3 months to hear a response from that which gave us no actual information about where the passport was. It was a very useless system. Very frustrating experience.

Due to id being expired 1st try was unsuccessful. 2nd try was halted due to the backlog of passports. Was told to wait until I was 45 days out of planned trip and 3rd attempt was successful and a breeze!
